Temp. Closure of Spitfire 11/05/2009
Due to unforseen personal circumstances, I will be closing SR for a few months. I hope to re-establish the rattery early-mid 2010, and hopefully still go ahead with introducing Burmese into my lines. I will still be answering emails and questions, so feel free to get in contact with me. Vicki. July 2009-October 2009 10/06/2009
The past few months have simply flown by! It only seems yesterday that Spitfire had its first litter, now they are all safely settled in their new homes. Life around here has been pretty normal really, although on August the 4th (my birthday I might add) I had to say goodbye to my rescue doe, Dorris, whom has a severe PT that didn't respond to medication. She is dearly missed by myself and the ratties. R.I.P little one xxx Early September saw the arrival of my latest rescue, Tilly, all the way from Whiskers In The Ear Rescue in Watford. Tilly has come to me as a hospice case, she has severe brain damage due to a inner ear infection which was left untreated. She was left with an extremely bad head tilt and, I have already mentioned, brain damage. Due to her mental condition, the tumour which has sprouted under her right fore leg is in-operable (advised by vets). She was originally bought here to be a companion for my 2 year old PEW doe, Pinky, but unfortuantely 2 weeks after Tilly's arrival, I had to make the tough decsion of having Pinky PTS. Old age and HLD had got the better of her and she clearly wasn't happy anymore. R.I.P Pinky, I miss you so much xxx Tilly's tumour has grown to massive proportaions in the last week or so, and it appears to of started to cause her some discomfort. I will be taking her to the vets this week to have her PTS as it is the kindest, and most humane thing to do. She may have only been here a month, but she has touched the hearts of everyone, more so Crumble, whom hasn't left Tilly's side since adopted her. She Constantly grooms her and snuggles up to her, and even chewed on corner of the hammock down so Tilly could climb in! Now that's ratty love. I have started to update this site, and will be adding new pictures in the next couple of weeks. I am also in the process of finishing my application form for kittens. I have updated the planned litters page, and can't wait for these kittens! Oh! Before I forget, I have been in contact with a Burmese breeder in Watford, and will hopefully be getting some kittens from her to start my very own line here at Spitfire! Exciting stuff! Vicki xxx |
